Start out by ignoring the Plus rule, playing in/around top right corner and trying to fill out either top row or right column depending on how opponent plays. I occasionally deviated from this plan if it would lead to my opponent capturing without an obvious opening to recapture or capture something else later. In the midgame continue to deny your opponent Plus opportunities and if possible take cards aggressively while doing so. Alpha can be used if your opponent opens up a Plus opportunity for you, but Cid and Warrior of Light are hopefully strong enough to at least get you to a tie otherwise.
Golbez is a great sub if you don't have Warrior of Light, but if Golbez or Warrior of Light become more popular/common the deck might need to be adjusted to a different gameplan.
